We want you to help us Bring Your Conference Home. Do you travel to a convention, annual meeting, professional development session or other gathering that is part of your industry? Or do you participate in a hobby or fraternal group that get together?

If you answered yes, we want to know more! If you tell us about the event you attend, we will determine if Fredericton could host the event. We will work with you to find out more, and encourage the event planner to choose Fredericton.

Why Do Meetings Matter?

Meetings create economic activity throughout the city, with meeting planners and delegates investing in flights, accommodations, meals, taxis, entertainment and gifts to take home.

One delegate attending a national conference in Fredericton will leave behind, on average, $324 per day that he/she is in our City.

The result of this new, non-local money injected into Fredericton’s economy is substantial, and provides many reasons to be pleased that we have facilities such as the Fredericton Convention Centre, convention hotels, unique off-site venues and fantastic accommodations in Fredericton.

About Us

Meetings Matter – Bring Your Conference Home is a joint marketing initiative of Fredericton Tourism and the Fredericton Convention Centre. The mandate of the Fredericton Convention Centre (FCC) includes attracting new events to Fredericton that benefit the entire industry. Fredericton Tourism is focussed on building awareness of the fantastic history, culture and nature available to visitors to our city, and closing the sale on events large and small.

The leads for potential meetings that you provide will be investigated, and the most appropriate meeting venue in Fredericton will follow-up with the event planner. By providing leads via this program, you will directly contribute to the success of Fredericton Tourism and FCC in winning new events for our city.

We are seeking leads for meetings of all sizes, and we will ensure that the meeting planner is matched with the venue/facility best suited to host their event.

  • We recently held our People Matter 2014 Conference in July at the beautiful Fredericton Convention Centre - the opening day was scheduled 3 days following Hurricane Arthur. The “team” of representatives from the hotels, convention centre, tourism staff and suppliers went above and beyond to ensure that our event ran smoothly even while local folks and sectors of the city were without power, not to mention the debris of tree limbs which littered the streets.  Working with this team was so enjoyable and tremendously rewarding. The collaboration between hospitality partners and vendors was so efficient and they were always ready to share and spread the wonderful “maritime hospitality” they are renowned for. The convention centre catering service was absolutely spectacular, providing high quality “local food” wherever possible which was absolutely delicious and prepared with such care. Let me assure you that those who overlook Fredericton as a conference destination are missing out! I will definitely recommend Fredericton as a great destination to hold conferences and meetings.

Meeting Resources

We take the lead
We are destination meeting planning specialists, and we know how to make your organization’s event a success. Every meeting and event is a little different, and all organizations have different needs. We will take the information from your lead, and follow-up with the meeting organizer. Don’t worry about how much time you have, or your experience in planning meetings; we have you covered!

Help on the ground
Some organizations require a local committee to take on certain aspects of event planning. We will work with you to create a successful team!

We also can facilitate support from the Fredericton International Airport and Air Canada to increase lift for large events, and have experience with local accommodations, off-site venues, décor providers and all the other touches that will make your event the best in the country.

Delegate Welcome Assistance
Fredericton Tourism provides welcome kits for each delegate arriving in Fredericton, and Downtown Fredericton will welcome your event with posters in business windows. These are a just a few of the small touches that make Fredericton a welcoming destination.
